Picnic with a Moose!

On July 21 we went on a picnic to the high Uintas with Ryan, Nicole and the boys.  We ended up in a area called the Upper Provo River picnic grounds. After we got everything out of the car and set up...we discovered that we were not alone!  Can you spot the Moose in the picture below?

Not only one but two Moose were about 60 ft away from us!

They were very content to sit in the meadow and ignore us.

UNTIL!

One decided to get up and check us out! 

 We started retreating back to the car...but after a minute

 or so he just turned back around and laid down.  He apparently
didn't see us a much of a threat.

After a couple of hours with the Moose...we moved on to Butterfly

We then found another place to enjoy Grandpa's birthday cake.

Eli couldn't wait to have birthday cake!

June Activites and the Garden

Family party on June 18th.  Julie Canfield,

Shaelyn Henderson, daughter of Robert and Melanie...what a cutie!

Fence finished....but the work has just begun!

We started rebuilding the fence in March.  It's now June and it's done....but there's much more yard work and another fence to go before this project is totally done!   We took the old 4 ft chain link fence down that was at the end of the drive way.  We plan to replace it with a 4 ft wood fence that will match the other fence.

Wind!

December 1, 2011  Major wind storm hits Davis

County.  Winds speeds where has high has 102 MPH!

Over 100 MPH = A Category 2 Hurricane.

This shows two trees that fell.

Power in the neighborhood has been out for almost

24 hours....ours came on after been off for almost

16 hours.  We are blessed!  The temperature in house

dropped to about 50 dregrees.

Lucky for us our cars didn't get hit!

Home to the north of us lost a large tree that damaged their truck.

First Snow!

Looking west, more snow is on the way!

Sadly, the wet heavy snow broke Robyn's rose bush.

The Mulberry trees are drooping under the

weight of the heavy snow.
